Spring Hike Series: Flowers Need Fire

KS Wild, Friends of the Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, and the Siskiyou Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon team up on this series of hikes chasing the wildflowers through the elevations in our backyard monument. Join us for one hike, or all three and discover the secret treasures blooming at all around us. Starting in the lowest elevations the hike series will be determined by what is blooming at the time of these dates:

Flowers need Fire

Botanist Kaitlyn Detweiler of The Siskiyou Chapter of the Oregon Native Plant Society will lead a moderately easy hike near the Greensprings to glimpse some of the wonderful flower species in the area. Kaitlyn will be exploring the relationship between fire and flowers. The exact location of the hike will be determined based on weather, and where the flowers are blooming.
