On Friday August 3, join hike leader and lichenologist John Villella for an informative talk in the Ashland Outdoor Store. John will introduce some of the bryophytes (mosses, liverworts, and hornworts) and lichens that make the Monument unique.
On Saturday morning (August 4, 9-2:00 pm), we will hike to Pilot Rock, identifying bryophytes and lichens along the way. The Friday presentation and the Saturday hike will be a introduction to the major groups found on rocks and trees with a focus on the unique flora of the CSNM.
Registration is required to attend the Saturday hike. Register here.
