Hike leader, Dr. Michael Parker, SOU professor and biologist will guide a visit to Vulture Rock to take in some beautiful vistas overlooking many of the newly protected areas.
Hike Duration: about 4-5 hours. Length: 2-4 miles depending on number of stops.
Level: Moderate to Hard. There will be some elevation change, some easy scrambling (optional) and limited trail access.
On the day of the hike:
- Be sure to bring a sense of adventure.
- Wear comfortable hiking shoes
- Bring plenty of water
- Bring lunch and snacks
- Additional items: Hat, Sunscreen, Walking Sticks, Binoculars, Hand Lens
- Bring layers

Directions: To carpool, meet at 8:30 am in the Shop n’ Kart parking lot (corner of Ashland Street and Tolman Creek Road) Park at the west end, near the Oil Stop.
