In preparation for the Saturday hike to the Parsnip Lakes, ecologist Michael Parker will discuss the geologic setting, hydrology, and biological diversity of this unique cluster of ponds, wetlands and springbrooks.
Among the species of particular interest is the Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa), recently listed as threatened under the federal endangered species act.
