Hike: Field Sketching

Field sketch with artist Sarah Burns. On the Saturday field trip we will focus on capturing the character of the landscape, plants, trees and flowers, value, color, and composition near the Hobart Bluff trailhead inside the Monument. We'll hike and sketch, eat our lunch, compare sketches, and talk about our experiences. Artistic level: Beginning to advanced artists. Hike Level: Easy to Moderate

In addition, participants should bring artistic supplies, including a pencil and sharpener, eraser, and small sketchbook.

     Directions: From I-5, take Exit 14 and head east on Highway 66 for 15 miles. Turn right on Soda Mountain Road and drive 3.8 miles. A parking area is at the Hobart trailhead where the Pacific Crest Trail and power lines cross the road.
To Carpool: Meet at 9:00am, in the Shop n’ Kart Parking lot OR meet at 10:00 am at the Hobart Bluff trailhead.
